The West Coast of South Africa is overlooked by many tourists because it is a rather barren landscape with the typical fynbos. The climate here is harsh and dry most of the year. Explore this wonderful area and do not miss the richness and diversity of nature. The San are the first people of South Africa. Be impressed by their hunting, tracking, and surviving capabilities.  Explore the West Coast National Park which has unique birdlife of international importance. In the park is also the picturesque lagoon of Langebaan, with its turquoise water and the fascinating sandy beach inviting you for a swim. In 1995, a sensational discovery was made nearby. Researchers found the fossil footprints of a woman, called "Eve's footprints", which she once left in the sand. Today we know that this woman was about 1,40m tall and walked along the beach about 117.000 years ago. Only between August and October does the landscape change, because with winter rains the flowers show their full bloom.  Indulge yourself in South African wine and experience the world-renowned view of the so-called "blue" mountain, namely Table Mountain from Blouberg Beach.
